Acting within the three-dimensional space of the Zeughausareal, artist Nina Emge intervenes in the legal infrastructure of the airspace of the former military site. Prompted by recent regulations that prohibit the transmission of radio waves rendering this portion of airspace empty and legally inaccessible, Emge reflects on the implications of these invisible boundaries. For this intervention, three distinct radio pieces created by composers, musicians, and activists are conceived to sonically occupy the airspace around the porch of the Kaserneareal. While the radio transmitters originally conceived for this piece would have violated current law and could not be activated, the work symbolically inhabits the air.
